Thursday 4th March: Wirralpedia Event

During February 2010, artist Jemma Egan spent time in Birkenhead, Seacombe and Rock Ferry libraries collecting facts, stories and myths about Wirral as the content for Wirralpedia, Wirral’s very own version of the online encyclopedia Wikipedia.  By visiting www.wirralpedia.com people can read, alter and add their own information about Wirral to the collection of extraordinary and fantastical stories about the area, which include maritime history, world famous parks and sightings of headless ghosts.

On Thursday 4th March between 10am and 1pm Jemma will be in Rock Ferry Library to demonstrate how to use the website. Throughout the morning, people are invited to drop in and learn how to use the library computers to add their own stories to Wirralpedia.  Further sessions will take place on Tuesday 9th March in Seacombe Library (10 am – 12.30 pm) and Birkenhead Library (1.30 – 4pm).
