The John Moores Painting Prize 2014 has been open at the Walker Art Gallery since 5 July, when a shortlist of five prizewinners were announced to coincide with the launch of Liverpool Biennial 2014. The exhibition includes work by 50 artists, united by one common theme: paint.

On Friday 19 September, the overall first-prize winner will be announced and to celebrate, we asked our team in the office to choose their favourites from the exhibition. If you would like to have your say too, don't forget that the Visitor's Choice poll is now open, and waiting for your vote on your next visit to the Walker Art Gallery. We would also love for you to share your thoughts with us by leaving a comment below.
