Registration now open for the 25th John Moores Painting Prize

29/11/07

Artists can now register to enter the 25th John Moores Contemporary Painting Prize. Once again the UK's most prestigious painting prize will form one of the main strands of the Liverpool Biennial festival.

In its 50th year, the 2008 exhibition promises to be more of a revelation than ever with artists Jake and Dinos Chapman taking part as jurors, alongside art critic Sacha Craddock and artists Paul Morrison and Graham Crowley, both former John Moores prize-winners. The judging will take place throughout 2008 and will result in an exhibition at the Walker Art Gallery from 20 September 2008 to 4 January 2009.

The John Moores Contemporary Painting Prize is an open submission competition available to all UK-based artists working with paint. The first prize will be £25,000, followed by four prizes of £2,500 and a visitor's choice prize of £2008. For more information and to register to enter, visit the National Museums Liverpool website here.
