The 5th Liverpool Biennial International Festival will run from 20 September to 30 November 2008.

Liverpool Biennial's International Festival is unique. It is the only event of its kind in the UK, positioning Liverpool within the global network of cities hosting international contemporary art biennials such as Venice, Sydney and Sao Paulo.

Spanning exhibitions, commissions and programmes of great diversity and scope, the festival is a celebration of the very best of contemporary visual art from around the world. We promote free access to exhibitions and offer an extensive range of public events, including tours, talks, workshops, conferences and education programmes.

A major event on the international arts calendar, the festival receives national and international media attention and attracts over 350,000 visitors.
