FREEHAND (FACT Young People's Programme)
As part of Liverpool Biennial’s inter-view Project, FREEHAND (FACT’s Young People Programme), have worked with artist Simon Blackmore to create a response to Korean artist U-Ram Choe. Focussing on U-Ram’s creations of fantastical creatures and the myths behind them FREEHAND have created two of their own creatures that have evolutionary characteristics previously unheard of…
The creatures Flumen Bellum and Pretium Secui Monasteriense are FREEHAND creations, based on the young peoples’ geographical and scientific research into the Merseyside habitat. The footage and films, developed using Flash, Art of Illusion Animation and the odd bit of ‘dress up’, are a unique insight into both creatures and into the imaginations of the young Merseyside artists of FREEHAND.
