Lucy Skaer lives in Glasgow and New York. Skaer abstracts objects into sculptural forms and symbols, removing them from their original context, and scrambling and unpicking their narrative associations.

In 2009 Skaer was shortlisted for the Turner Prize, and in 2007 she represented Scotland at the 52nd Venice Biennale.
