Pierre Huyghe was invited to develop a sequential piece in response to the location of Seel Street.

The Liverpool Billboard Project asked artists to respond to particular sites in the city to develop specific works that begin to tell us something about the people of the city of Liverpool. Pierre Huyghe was invited to develop a sequential piece in response to the location of Seel Street.

For two weeks, the site hosted a Huyghe work. For the following weeks a commercial poster was installed. This was followed by a second Huyghe piece for a further two weeks. The artist was able to question public perception and memory, playing with small differences between his two poster-works. The piece became a slow motion flux between the artistic and the commercial uses of outdoor advertising locations.
