Join LB2025 artists Linda Lamignan and Odur Ronald in a conversation with author Vid Simoniti, launching ‘Art Against the World’, the Liverpool Biennial podcast. This year, audiences can scan QR codes around the festival to access in-depth conversations with artists, thinkers and curators on a podcast that explores biennial themes. In this conversation, we’ll learn about the symbolism behind artists’ unusual materials, from crude oil to aluminium, revealing patterns of trade and extraction that create our world.

About the Artists
Linda Lamignan (b. 1988, Stavanger, Norway)is a visual artist whose work seeks to step outside the idea of seeing living landscapes and elements as a resource for economic profit and instead understand them as an extension of our own bodies. Through video, sound and objects, Lamignan explores notions related to storytelling and translation, transformation and love.
Odur Ronald (b. 1992, Kampala, Uganda) is a multi-disciplinary visual artist. He mainly uses aluminium printing plates by exploring its possibilities, one technique at a time by not only painting on the aluminium sheets, but also dents, burns, layers, stitches and weaves the shiny metal thus achieving texture, color, shape and character.
