Join us for a movement workshop with Unmute Dance Theatre to explore choreography and ideas through music and physical theatre.

As part of Liverpool Biennial 2023’s ‘Family Days’, running throughout the summer, join us on Saturday 22nd July at 11am-12pm for a movement workshop with Unmute Dance Theatre, a company of artists with mixed abilities and disabilities. The group use physical theatre and contemporary dance to create awareness of accessibility and people with disabilities.

The workshop is an opportunity for children aged 4-9 to explore choreography and ideas through music and physical theatre, working with a contemporary dance company. No prior experience of dance is needed and we welcome children of all abilities. The workshop will last approximately an hour and a half.

Please note that parents and guardians must remain for the duration of the workshop and children must be under their parent or guardian’s supervision. Seating and light refreshments will be provided for all parents and guardians.

Liverpool Biennial ‘Family Days’ offer opportunities to explore quick, creative ways of making in the form of movement, sculpture, film and sound. Inspired by Zine-making and the art of producing imaginative things in concise and compact ways, these drop-in art workshops will be supported by a creative facilitator with all materials provided. Bring the whole family to learn a new craft or digital skill on Saturdays throughout July and August.

This movement workshop with Unmute Dance Theatre is supported by Art Fund, the British Council and Paul Hamlyn Foundation.
