Join Pierce Starre and Lisa Birtles for a British Sign Language led tour of Tate Liverpool + RIBA North and Open Eye Gallery exploring the artworks on show and take part in a creative workshop session inspired by the artworks. 

***The tour will be entirely led in British Sign Language and is designed for, and led by, members of the Deaf community – please do not book onto the tour unless you are a BSL user.***

Pierce Starre is a Child of Deaf Adults (CODA) who is a Performance Artist and Producer, and Lisa Birtles is a profoundly Deaf BSL user, who works as a BSL Teacher, Training Co-ordinator and BSL Translator.

This event will also include a live online Q&A with artist Christine Sun Kim with American Sign Language – British Sign Language interpretation.

Access:

The tour will be entirely led in BSL and has step-free access to all spaces. The event registration form invites guests to share any additional requirements. 

The live online Q&A will take place after the main tour at Avenue HQ. The artist will be online on a screen with a remote interpreter translating from BSL-ASL. Questions from the audience will be relayed to the artist in BSL.
