Skill Share Event with Vid Simoniti and FACT Studio/Lab: What Goes into Making a Podcast?
Philosopher and Art Historian, Vid Simoniti, has produced and presented a series of ‘Art Against the World’ podcasts related to the BEDROCK theme of Liverpool Biennial 2025.
For this special event, Vid together with Studio/Lab at FACT and other experts in the field, will share insights into the world of podcast-making. We’ll explore what is involved in the process – behind the scenes from beginning to end – and will invite attendees to share their experiences too.
‘Art Against the World’ podcast is a co-production with the University of Liverpool. This event is delivered in partnership with Studio/Lab at FACT Liverpool.

***SOLD OUT *** Liverpool Biennial 2025 Creative BSL Tour
Join Pierce Starre and Lisa Birtles for a British Sign Language led tour of Tate Liverpool + RIBA North and Open Eye Gallery exploring the artworks on show and take part in a creative workshop session inspired by the artworks.
***The tour will be entirely led in British Sign Language and is designed for, and led by, members of the Deaf community – please do not book onto the tour unless you are a BSL user.***
Pierce Starre is a Child of Deaf Adults (CODA) who is a Performance Artist and Producer, and Lisa Birtles is a profoundly Deaf BSL user, who works as a BSL Teacher, Training Co-ordinator and BSL Translator.
This event will also include a live online Q&A with artist Christine Sun Kim with American Sign Language – British Sign Language interpretation.

DARCH Listening Party at Crosby Library
Join artist duo Radha Patel and Umulkhayr Mohamed, who work together under the name DARCH, for a collective listening event at Crosby Library.
This event offers an opportunity to listen out loud to their audio artwork, which was co-commissioned for BEDROCK by Liverpool Biennial and At The Library. This will be a relaxed, informal gathering with refreshments and an opportunity to share with the artists and discuss the themes of their artwork.

Walking Tour with Janaya Pickett and LB2025 Curator Marie-Anne McQuay
Join historian, Janaya Pickett and LB2025 Curator, Marie-Anne McQuay for a walking tour through the city that will stop at several key points of interest.
This special tour for our closing weekend will touch on the rich Black history of Liverpool, as we take in historic points of interest such as Liverpool’s Albert Dock, and see and discuss some of the artworks commissioned for Liverpool Biennial 2025.
The tour will consider the port history and foundational migration of the City of Liverpool – as a Bedrock for the city and its communities.

Bodies of Water Symposium: Regenerative Art Practice
Join UP Projects for a half day symposium exploring regenerative principles and practices. The symposium will bring together expertise and insights from artists, curators, and environmentalists.
Through panel discussions and dynamic workshops, the symposium will explore the role public and socially engaged art can play in the climate and biodiversity crises. It aims to raise the ambition for what it means to be environmentally responsible both technically and culturally.

British Science Festival – Geophonic: A rock and walk performance
Journey deep into the earth during this atmospheric sound walk and immersive performance. Geology, sci-fi and rave culture come together in a guided tour through the fascinating geological processes that continually shape Liverpool’s landscape. Guided by performers, you’ll listen to the stories of the rocks beneath your feet- using beautiful, hand-crafted aluminium geophones -and foster a deeper connection to the natural world.

British Science Festival – Taking Flight
