A Tidal Wave of Perception, 2021

£780.00

Lithograph
61 x 78 cm
Edition of 50
Signed and numbered by the artist

Liverpool Biennial is delighted to announce the release of a limited edition print by highly acclaimed artist Jadé Fadojutimi.

This piece will be Fadojutimi’s first lithograph edition and accompanies her paintings that will be exhibited at Liverpool Biennial 2021: The Stomach and the Port.

Fadojutimi’s works reflect on her self-image, and serve to question the construction and constraints of identity through bright and charged colours. Her interrogation of complex emotional landscapes forms a dynamic translation of the multiplicity of the human experience.

A Tidal Wave of Perception is composed in several layers, presenting a swirling tangle of translucent colour and liquid gesture. Abstracted, organic shapes wash in and out of focus – languid limbs and trailing, leafy tendrils. The work’s title draws attention to the effusive, fluidity of the artist’s mark making, a quality reflected in Fadojutimi’s conception of the self – a complex, layered and continuously evolving identity.

Published for Liverpool Biennial by Pippy Houldsworth Gallery, London (2021).
